WHAT IS MIVO?
- MIVO is vocativ of MIVA. Or, if you want, it is a mutation of Miva and my name (Ivo). Am I selfish? Yes, for sure!
Oh my gosh, but what is 'vocativ' and what is 'Miva'?
- Well, Miva is a server side XML scripting language. If you do not know it, have a look at http://miva.com
- A Miva veteran, Jack Wilson, the author of MvTools, reported that Miva®, originally 'Htmlscript', got its name from the name of the Miva Hotel in Bratislava, Slovakia (in Central Europe), where the founders stayed few days. I cannot confirm it, but I do know the Miva Hotel in Bratislava. I was born in Slovakia.
- Vocativ is a grammatical case used for addressing somebody or something. It is mostly used in exclamation sentences. In Slavonic languages (Slovak, Czech, Russian, Polish,...), similarly as in Latin, all nouns and pronouns, use to take different forms depending on the relation of the word to others in a sentence. It is called 'declination'. In English there are still just few rests of declination: The first person singular personal pronoun has two forms: 'I' (subject), and 'me' (object). In Slovak or Czech, nouns and pronouns have 7 cases (forms) in singular and 7 in plural. Here is an example declination of the 'Miva' noun in Czech:
| case | | singular | plural |
| nominativ | | Miva | Mivy |
| genitiv | | Mivy | Miv |
| dativ | | Mive | Mivám |
| accusativ | | Mivu | Mivy |
| vocativ | | Mivo! | Mivy! |
| locativ | | Mive | Mivách |
| instrumental | | Mivou | Mivami |
